Summer in Marin is truly a magical time. The weather is gorgeous, the beaches and hiking trails are packed, and the downtowns are bustling with life. Marin and San Francisco are also extremely involved with events from music and art festivals, to summer camps for the kids. Every weekend there are new experiences offered for all audiences.
Marin County Fair
The Marin County Fair is an amazing day or nighttime activity for the whole family. From June 29th to July 3rd this year the Marin County Civic center will turn into a hotspot packed with rollercoasters, art exhibits, a petting zoo, and plenty of food and shopping options to fill up a day or two. There are even fireworks every night to celebrate the 4th of July!
Ross Recreation Summer Camps
Ross Recreation has been offering summer camps for kids ages 4-14 for the last 30 years. With their wide variety of options for all ages, there is sure to be one to fit whatever your child’s interest is! Speaking from experience, these camps were a favorite of mine for years and a great way to make friends and have fun while doing things I enjoyed.
Outside Lands
Outside Lands is a famous music and art festival held in early August in Golden Gate Park. The lineup never fails to disappoint with all genres of music for all ages. The food trucks are always amazing and the famous art exhibits are also awesome to check out while you are there. It is a staple for anyone in the bay area to experience at least once and will make for an amazing weekend.
Bottlerock
Bottlerock Napa Valley is another famous annual festival held the last weekend of May. It is a music, wine, food, and brew festival held at the Napa Valley expo every year. The wine and food options are truly off the hook and make for a great couples' getaway for the beginning of summer. Being in Napa, there are also plenty of options and events outside of the festival as the town blows up for this popular weekend.
